Architectural Digest: The Grand Tour Just Hosted a Flurry of Palm Beach Events in a Moroccan Tent

Mother-daughter duo Julie Fisher Cummings and Caroline Rafferty are redefining the city in which their family’s roots are so entrenched. “In Palm Beach, everyone thinks you go antiquing on Dixie Highway and find these fabulous things, but as somebody who lives here, I wasn’t finding much beyond the coastal, traditional, rattan look,” Rafferty tells AD PRO on the impetus for opening design store the Grand Tour a year ago. “While that style was done really well, I found a hole in the market for an eclectic, traveled aesthetic.”

In keeping with the Grand Tour’s global ambitions, Rafferty and Cummings launched The Souk, a tented marketplace at the Royal Poinciana Plaza, which just hosted two days of lectures, experiences, and, of course, shopping in celebration of the store’s first anniversary. The event was also the perfect way to piggyback on the festivities taking place for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which opens its third edition in Palm Beach on Saturday.
