The Palm Beach Post: Palm Beach flower shop rolls out socially distanced workshops
A local flower shop, Renny & Reed, is launching a summer flower workshop series during the coronavirus pandemic starting July 15.
Faced with the cancellation of over a dozen events since the coronavirus pandemic, a local floral and event-design company is finding new life for its summer blooms.
During the height of season, Reed McIlvaine, owner of Renny & Reed, typically handles five to 10 events a week. He and his team bounce around town, and out of state, preparing weddings, galas, birthdays and other special events with the organic garden flair they are known for.
But on March 20, the jetting, designing and partying stopped abruptly when Gov. Ron DeSantis announced mandatory business closures. For a long time, event design was the forefront of the business but the coronavirus forced McIlvaine to rethink his approach, prompting him to launch a floral workshop.
