Palm Beach Daily News: LoveShackFancy brings Victorian-era dresses to the island
On Tuesday night it seemed like Palm Beach traveled back to the Gilded Age. Lace-embroidered pink and blue pastel dresses took over The Royal Poinciana Plaza for the grand opening of clothing store LoveShackFancy.
Nearly 200 people attended the store’s party including long-time followers and plaza shoppers. From inside the store, plaza visitors could be seen marveling at the unexpected new store’s decor. LoveShackFancy’s vine and silk flower-covered storefront differs from anything in the plaza.
Walls are covered in colorful floral wallpaper, sun hats adorned in flower-print ribbons hang from mannequins, rusty metal furniture is upholstered in the same print as the dresses hanging from the racks and a dining room is decorated as though Marie Antoinette’s about to have tea.
